In the hustle and bustle of today’s world we often forget that there are many items we can use around the house to help with common problems. Here are a few remedies that use items you already have around the house. They are fun and will surprise you.
Toothpaste, yes common ol’ toothpaste.
It works great on zapping zits! Put a small amount on to a blemish at night and in the morning it will have absorbed the oil. You can also use a crushed asprin (it contains salicylic acid) mixed with a tiny amount of water and apply to the blemish.
Toothpaste also works on mosquito bites to take the itch out.
Apple Cider Vinegar
For shiny hair there is nothing better than Apple Cider Vinegar. After shampooing hair, pour an Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse on to hair. Rinse with cool water and follow with conditioner. Using conditioner after the rinse will help keep your hair not smelling like vinegar.
Apple Cider Vinegar Light Hair Rinse:
½ C. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 C. Chamomile Tea
Apple Cider Vinegar Dark Hair Rinse:
½ C. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 C. Black Tea
1 sprig Rosemary
Mayonnaise
For a great hair conditioner, use mayo!
Saturate hair with Mayo, wrap with plastic wrap, wait 15 minutes, rinse and shampoo as normal. And Waa La, softer hair!
Preperation H
This stuff is great if you have puffy eyes, just place a small amount around eyes at night. In the morning, your eyes will not be puffy. It reduces the inflamed tissue.
Aloe
If you have an aloe plant around your house you probably already know about using it for dry skin. You can also use it for a sunburn. Just add a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil to the aloe and apply. The peppermint contains menthol which numbs the nerves.
For Organic Gardens:
Use Coffee Grounds in the garden to help keep pests away.
Use Banana Peels in the garden for healthy plants. The peels contain potassium which gives nutrition to the plants.
Use crumpled Egg shells in the garden for calcium. Calcium helps plants grow.
